History: The path to today.
Midwest Challenge was formed to combat high rates of recidivism and relapse by offering an alternative to men struggling with the difficulties of transition after completing chemical dependency treatment or incarceration.
A Minneapolis police officer who saw the issues first hand established Midwest Challenge in 1972 as a private non-profit.
Through the next two decades the mission of Midwest Challenge has branched out and changed shape. However the core desire to offer the opportunity for men from all walks of life to find a safe place to renew their spirit, emotional and physical strength as well as get their lives going on a path of transformation...still remains. |
